I will be shutting down SharkBin at the beginning of December 2025.

SharkBin is one of my many passion projects, and I’ve always loved providing small, helpful services for whoever stumbles across them.

Since starting this project, I’ve grown a lot as a developer, and SharkBin follows so many improper practices that it would require a complete overhaul.

SharkBin doesn’t use a database at all - links and pastes are stored entirely in text files, which isn’t ideal for a service like this.

I’ll continue running SharkBin with occasional maintenance and will still monitor pastes and shortlinks for spam.

However, I’ll also be launching a private, friends-only service that supports shortlinks and pastes, along with audio and image hosting.

If you're a friend of mine, consider checking it out when it's ready.

Do NOT use SharkBin for permanent links, as they will stop working shortly before 2026. However, it’s still fine for temporary use, like chatting with friends or sharing code snippets.
